Arrest after Felixstowe incident

Police have arrested a man in connection with an incident in Felixstowe.

 It took place last night (Saturday 12 September) at about 9.45pm on Manor Terrace.

A motorist reported that a driver of another vehicle, a blue VW Transporter, had reversed and collided with the vehicle he was driving.

Officers swiftly attended the scene and attempted to speak with the driver  who failed to stop and hit a police vehicle, causing some damage.

A female officer left their police vehicle and attempted to stop the offending driver from driving off. 
The vehicle was stopped further down Manor Road by another police vehicle.
A 54 year old man was arrested at the scene for a failing to provide a breath test and a number of associated offences and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He remains in police custody at this time. 

No-one was seriously hurt in the incident.
