Bury St Edmunds - public order witness appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident in Bury St Edmunds on Monday 28 October.

The incident took place at around 12.20pm while a family was walking from McDonald’s in Cornhill towards the Arc Shopping Centre.

It is alleged racially aggravated comments were directed towards the family by a man.

Police officers attended and a 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public order offences. He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre and released to answer bail on 19 November.

Officers are trying to trace the family involved in the incident.
