Haverhill - two arrested for firearms offences

Two men have been arrested in connection with firearm offences in Haverhill.

Police were called at approximately 7:45pm yesterday, Tuesday 27 August, following reports of an altercation between three men in Gloucester Road where one man was threatened. The suspects then left the area on foot, following which it was alleged a firearm was seen.

A search of the area was carried out by officers, assisted by the NPAS (National Police Air Service) helicopter. At approximately 9:20pm, the two suspects were located at a nearby residence and arrested.

A 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both from Haverhill, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and taken to Bury Police Investigation Centre for questioning where they remain.
