Witness appeal to fail to stop RTC at Capel St Mary

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fail to stop road traffic collision close to Capel St Mary that took place on the A12 this afternoon (Sunday 28 July).

It happened at about 1.35pm on the A12 northbound route near to the turn off for Washbrook.

A motorbike being ridden northbound was in collision with three other vehicles. The motorcycle left the road, while the other three vehicles immediately left the scene of the incident.

The male motorcyclist was taken to Ipswich hospital and, although is conscious and breathing, he is being treated for head injuries.

Enquiries are on-going to locate the other three vehicles. The northbound A12 remains closed for initial investigation work to be conducted but it is likely to re-open shortly. Diversions remain in place.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone travelling in the area who may have dash-cam footage of the vehicles, is asked to contact the Police Headquarters Roads Policing Team quoting CAD number 207 of 29 July 2019
