Bury St Edmunds – Sudden death update


Police investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of man in the River Lark in Bury St Edmunds yesterday, can confirm that the death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.

Officers were called shortly before 12.30pm on Thursday 28 March, following reports that a man had been found in the river near to St Saviours Interchange.

Emergency services attended the scene and the man was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where he was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later.

Next of kin have been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
