Haverhill - Appeal following dangerous driving incident

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a dangerous driving incident in Haverhill.

The incident took place on Withersfield Road near to the junction with Broad Street in the town on Monday 10 June at approximately 6:00pm. It is reported that a silver Renault Trafic van, index mark AV14 VUO, travelling towards The Pightle collided with a parked black Volkswagen Eos car. The impact caused the VW to further collide with a house causing some structural damage.

The Renault van then travelled to the other side of the road, narrowly missing oncoming traffic before crashing into a brick wall in the grounds of the West End Congregational Church.

The driver of the van fled from the scene but has now been traced by police. The passenger in the van stayed on the scene. Both occupants sustained minor injuries.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anybody with any information to contact police.
