Beck Row – Serious road traffic collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Beck Row.

Officers were called by the ambulance service shortly after 5.35pm yesterday, Sunday 23 June, following reports of a collision involving two cars – a silver Vauxhall Astra and a silver Jeep Cherokee – in The Common.

Emergency services attended the scene and two men – both aged in their 20s - were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by an air ambulance.

One of the men sustained life-threatening injuries and he remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital. The other man sustained a serious but not life-threatening injury. He also remains in hospital.

Another motorist, a man aged his 20s, who was not taken to hospital, sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.

Road closures were put in place while an investigation into the circumstances was carried out and recovery of the vehicles was also completed.

Any witnesses to the collision should contact Suffolk police on 101 quoting reference CAD 275 of 23 June. Officers are particularly keen to hear from any motorists who may have dash cam footage. Witnesses can also contact PC Smyth by emailing [email protected]
