Two arrests after Hadleigh arson

Police have arrested two teenagers after a suspected arson attack in Hadleigh.

Officers were called at about 1.20pm this afternoon (Sunday 20 June) to a report of a fire in a flat on the High Street.

Fire crews attended and the fire was extinguished by 1.40pm.

Later this afternoon following enquiries, officers arrested a 19 year old male and a 17 year male both on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, burglary and possession of cannabis.

They have been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning where they remain.
 
No-one was hurt in the fire and an investigation into the precise cause is underway.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the High Street are prior to the fire should contact Ipswich CID, quoting CAD number 187 of 21 June 2020.
