CCTV appeal – Newmarket incident

Police are appealing for help to identify two people in connection with an incident in Newmarket..

Officers were called to the Wagon and Horses pub in the High Street in Newmarket on Saturday 29 February at 7.40pm.

A verbal disagreement between a group of males in the rear yard area of the pub was taking place. One male struck one of the males, aged 20, in the face. He sustained a broken tooth and cuts to the face. An incident of violent disorder between around 15 people took place inside the bar with officers swiftly restoring order to the situation. The pub was shut for the rest of the evening to prevent further disorder.

A 51 year old was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and subsequently released under investigation. Enquiries into the incident are on-going.

Police would like identify two people to help them with their enquiries.
