Sudbury – Appeal after robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Sudbury

The incident occurred at approximately 5pm yesterday, Wednesday 18 December, in Quay Lane.

The victims – a man and a woman – were placing belongings in their parked car in Quay Lane when they were approached by two males.

One of the males, who was holding a bladed weapon, then threatened the man and demanded that he hand over his belongings. The woman was also pushed and her handbag was stolen. The two male suspects then ran in the direction of Blackfriars.

The suspects are described as white and were both wearing all black. One of the male suspects was also possibly wearing a black and white scarf, had dark hair and was taller than the other male.

Officers would be keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed either the incident or two males running away from Quay Lane into Blackfriars. Alternatively, anyone who was seen acting suspiciously in the area between 4.45pm and 7pm.

Any witnesses or anyone travelling in the area that may have captured relevant dash-cam should contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station, quoting crime reference number: 37/76177/19
