Ipswich - burglary arrest

A man has been arrested following two residential burglaries in Ipswich last night.

At around 11.37pm yesterday, Wednesday 18 March, police were called to a property in Carlton Way following reports of a burglary in progress. The offender then left the property after residents tried to detain him.

A short time later police were called to a second burglary in progress in Borrowdale Avenue. The offender entered a residential property and stole car keys before attempting to steal a vehicle parked outside.

Officers quickly attended both incidents and a man was arrested at the scene.

A 33-year-old man from the Leiston area was arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He remains in custody.
