Ipswich collision - dashcam and witness appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision in Ipswich this morning (Monday 18 November) where two men left the scene.

Police were called to Belstead Road at the junction with Girton Way at 8am today (Monday 18 November), to reports of a road traffic collision involving a Blue Jeep Cherokee and a silver BMW 5 series.

A woman and child suffered injuries in the collision and the two male occupants of the silver BMW left the scene prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

Police would like to speak to the occupants of the silver BMW, who reportedly left the scene in the direction of Cambridge Drive. One man left on a BMX bicycle and another left on foot, carrying a large bag. One man is described as wearing a rusty orange top and a second man as wearing a khaki zip up top.

The road was blocked but cleared at approximately 10.30am.

Officers would like to ask any witnesses to the collision to come forward, or who may have seen anyone fitting the description above, following the collision.

Police would like anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of Belstead Road, Girton Way, Cambridge Drive and the surrounding areas, between 8am and 9am today, (Monday 18 November) to contact them.
