Ixworth – Serious collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Ixworth at the weekend.

Officers were called at 1.20pm on Sunday 14 July to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A1088 Thetford Road, at the junction with Bardwell Road, involving a black Kia Carens and a black KTM motorbike.

The motorcyclist – a man aged in his 50s - was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital having sustained a number of injuries to his foot, legs and hips, which are described as life-changing.

Any witnesses to the collision, or anyone travelling in the area who may have dashcam footage of the vehicles, is asked to contact the Bury St Edmunds Roads and Armed Policing Team, quoting reference 41334/19.
