Ipswich – Collision appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Ipswich last week.

The incident occurred at around 5.50pm on Tuesday 7 January in St Helens Street, near to the junction with Orchard Street.

A light-coloured car, thought to be possibly a Renault Megane or similar style of vehicle, was involved in a collision with a beige Renault Modus.

The driver of the light-coloured car stopped initially, before driving off without exchanging any details with the driver of the Renault Modus.

The driver is described as white, aged in his late 70s, tall, of slim build and bald on the top of his head, with silver/grey hair on the sides. He was wearing a blue coat and his car is described as having sustained damage to the front bumper and the offside headlight.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision and in particular any other motorists who have dashcams in their vehicles.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ipswich Central Safer Neighbourhood Team at Museum Street Police Station, quoting reference number SC-10012020-213.
