Leiston burglary appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses to burglary that took place in Leiston.

It happened on Sizewell Road at the Co-Op Solar store this morning (Monday 14 October).

Officers were alerted after an alarm activation triggered just after 2am. It is believed the occupants broke in to the premises via a window with a large quantity of cigarettes and some razor blades stolen in the incident.

Police pursued a vehicle suspected of being involved in the crime along the A1120 and A140  before the occupants left the vehicle, a dark Ford Mondeo, on the A14 westbound in the Stowupland area.

The three offenders, who remain outstanding, were both dressed in black and wearing balaclavas and carried crow-bars. No-one was hurt the incident.

Enquires are on-going, including examining the suspect vehicle for forensic clues, and anyone who has dash-cam footage of the incident, saw any suspicious activity in the area or has knowledge of the people involved or their whereabouts should contact East CID, quoting crime reference 37/62365/19
