Report of counterfeit notes in Beccles

Police are issuing a warning to shoppers in the Beccles area after an incident of counterfeit notes were passed to a shop.
 
The incident took place at W H Smith Ltd in New Market on Tuesday 11 February at some point between 2.30pm and 3pm.
 
Two suspects entered the shop and tried to make a payment of over £1000 in Scottish notes which were all found to be counterfeit.
 
 The two suspects, two males, were described as having Irish accents and were about five foot eight inches to five foot nine inches tall, and had dark hair and wore heavy black coats.
 
Police would remind all shoppers and businesses to be aware of the below advice.
