Hollesley Bay absconder recaptured

A prisoner who absconded from HMP Hollesley Bay in the summer has been recaptured in Berkshire.

Patrick Cassidy, aged 29, was reported missing after failing to attend a roll call Tuesday 13 August.

Cassidy was arrested in Slough on Sunday night (17 November) by officers from Thames Valley Police, following reports of a burglary in progress at an address in Bradley Road.

He was taken into police custody and subsequently charged with escaping from lawful custody and also aggravated burglary with intent (in relation to the incident in Slough on Sunday night).

Cassidy appeared before East Berkshire Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Tuesday 19 November, but the hearing was adjourned and he was due to appear there again today, Wednesday 20 November.
