Appeal to racially aggravated assault in Lowestoft

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident of racially aggravated assault that took place in Lowestoft. 

It happened on Monday 4 May at about 3.330pm on Rotterdam Road near the alleyway adjacent to Amy Court. 
 
 The male victim, aged in his early 40s, was approached by a group of individuals, described as being aged in their late teens. According to the victim there were two main offenders. One of the suspects was described as a white male, in his late teens, with short brown hair and wearing a grey Armani tracksuit. The other male was described as a white male, in his late teens, with short brown hair, of a large build and was about five foot, nine inches tall.  
 
The male victim was punched in his left ear and had a brick thrown at him, although the brick did not hit him, after racially abusive comments were made. 
 
Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time or has knowledge of committed the offence should contact Lowestoft police quoting crime number 37/24736/20.
