Sudbury – Body discovered in river update

Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body in a river in Sudbury can confirm that the death remains unexplained at this time but is not being treated as suspicious.

Police were called shortly after 3.20pm yesterday, Tuesday 10 December, to reports that a body of a man, aged in his 70s, had been discovered in the River Stour near Friars Meadow in Sudbury.

Emergency services were called to the location but the man was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

A file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
