Attempted robbery in Ipswich

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery in Ipswich.
 
It happened at an alleyway on Robin Drive on Friday 6 December at about 7.10pm.
 
The victim, a woman in early 20s, was walking along the pavement when a male suspect has jumped out of an alleyway and tried to grab the victim’s bag from her shoulder. During the scuffle the suspect caught the victim in the face with his hand, however the victim has managed to punch the offender in the face. He then fled the scene. The victim also fled the scene with her handbag.
 
The suspect is described as 5 foot, 10 inches tall, of average build, wearing dark black hooded top and a scarf around face and black gloves with a red stripe on them.
