Newmarket – Appeal after attempted robbery

 

Officers are appealing for witnesses or information after an attempted robbery in Newmarket. The incident took place, yesterday, Monday 8 June at around 6pm on Adastral Close in the town.

A man in his 50s was walking with two bags of shopping when he was passed by two teenage girls. One of the girls then grabbed one of the bags from the victim’s hand causing the bag to break and the shopping to spill onto the pavement. One girl ran off in direction of Rowley Drive and the other towards the other end of Adastral Close. Nothing was stolen but the victim sustained a hand injury and was left shaken as a result.

The suspects are both described as white and around 16 years of age. The first girl is also described as short, slim with blonde hair who was wearing a black coat, grey hooded top and tracksuit bottoms. The second is described as tall, slim with long black hair and was wearing blue jeans.
