Newmarket – Appeal following serious road traffic collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Newmarket.

Officers were called shortly after 3.40pm today, Thursday 7 November, following reports of a collision on Exning Road, close to Elizabeth Avenue involving a bus and a pedestrian.

Emergency services attended the scene and the pedestrian, a young female, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by ambulance after sustaining injuries that were not deemed to life-threatening but may be life-changing.

Exning Road remains closed while recovery of the bus and an investigation takes place.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have captured any dash-cam footage of the incident should contact the Joint Roads and Armed Policing Team, quoting CAD 255 of 7 November.
