Ipswich - Teenage boy arrested following sexual assault

A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault in Ipswich.

The incident occurred on Sunday 5 January, approximately between 9.30pm and 9.40pm, in Jamestown Boulevard.
 
The victim – a 17-year-old teenage girl – had just left a convenience store in Rapier Street, with her 16-year-old female friend, when she noticed a group of four unknown males.
 
The group then started to shout verbally suggestive comments towards the teenage girl and then started to follow the girl and her friend.
 
As the teenagers reached the end of Jamestown Boulevard, one of the male suspects slapped the teenage girl’s bottom and then touched her in an intimate area over her clothing.
 
The teenagers then managed to walk away and the male suspect also walked away.
 
A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Saturday 11 January on suspicion of sexual assault. He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he was questioned and subsequently released on bail until Monday 3 February.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault in Ipswich.
 
The incident occurred on Sunday 5 January, approximately between 9.30pm and 9.40pm, in Jamestown Boulevard.
 
The victim – a 17-year-old teenage girl – had just left a convenience store in Rapier Street, with her 16-year-old male friend, when she noticed a group of four unknown males.
 
The group then started to shout verbally suggestive comments towards the teenage girl and then started to follow the girl and her friend.
 
As the teenagers reached the end of Jamestown Boulevard, one of the male suspects slapped the teenage girl’s bottom and then touched her in an intimate area over her clothing.
 
The teenagers then managed to walk away and the male suspect also walked away.
 
The suspect, who assaulted the teenage girl, is described as male and is approximately aged 18. He was wearing a black Supply & Demand hoodie and black jeans.
 
One of the other male suspects wore a bright red coat and another male had a beard. The fourth male is described as being younger and shorter than the other members of the group. He was also approximately aged 12 and of a large build.
