Ipswich - Man sentenced after two thefts

A 34-year-old man has been given an eight week prison sentence after admitting two thefts in Ipswich.

Michael Smith, of no fixed abode in Ipswich, was charged with theft after a stealing a cashbox from a stallholder on the Cornhill in the town on Tuesday 4 December. Smith was also charged with the theft of keys and a bank card on the same day.

Appearing at Ipswich Magistrates Court, yesterday Wednesday 5 December, he pleaded guilty to both offences and was sentenced to eight weeks in prison for each offence to run concurrently.
