Assault appeal - Ipswich

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident of assault in the Gainsborough area of Ipswich.

It happened on 25 August at some point before 9pm near to Braziers Wood Road.

The female victim, aged 40, was walking her dog on the fields behind Morland Primary School, when an unidentified male grabbed her resulting in minor scratches to victim’s upper chest and reddening around her neck. Victim has then used her dog lead and hit the unidentified male who was still behind her before she ran off.

A 23 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of ABH and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.  He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
