Ipswich - distraction burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses and urging communities to report any suspicious behaviour in their neighbourhood following reports of a distraction burglary in Ipswich.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30pm yesterday, Tuesday 4 June, at a residence in Sheldrake Drive. 

The victim, a woman in her 90s, answered the door to two men claiming to be there to fix a water leak. Both men entered the home, with one walking into the kitchen while the other made his way upstairs where it is believed a search was made through her belongings. 

The victim was able to raise the alarm and the men left. Nothing is thought to have to been taken during the incident.

The first suspect is described as white, in his 20s, of slim build and with light-coloured hair.

The second suspect is described as white, in his 40s, with short hair and of stocky build. Both men were wearing an orange high visibility workers waistcoat.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have knowledge of the incident or who may have seen two males matching the descriptions above.
