Ipswich – Man charged in connection with burglaries

A 39-year-old man from Ipswich has been charged in connection with three burglary incidents in the town.

At around 1.15pm on Wednesday 1 November, officers conducting enquiries in the vicinity of Handford Road in connection with recent burglaries in the area had cause to stop and search a man.

Michael Harvey, of no fixed abode, was subsequently arrested and has since been charged in connection with the following three offences:

  • A burglary at an address in Handford Road on Wednesday 1 November, where a laptop, electric guitar and other items were stolen
  • A burglary at an address in Belstead Road on Tuesday 24 October, where a wallet containing bank cards and cash was stolen
  • An attempted burglary at an address in Burlington Road on Monday 23 November

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today, Friday 3 November.
