Ipswich burglary charge

Police have charged a man in connection with a burglary that took place in Ipswich.

It follows an incident that took place in Hadleigh Road on Wednesday 1 January in which alcohol and a number of power tools were stolen.

The homeowners became aware of someone on their property and stopped a man before the arrival of police officers.

Dale Wright, 46, of Windsor Road, Ipswich was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences in relation to the incident and taken to Martlesham Heath Police investigation Centre for questioning.

On 2 January, Wright was charged with burglary, possession of a knife, assault by beating of an emergency worker, and for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrate’s Court today, Friday 3 January.
