Lowestoft – Man charged with drug and criminal damage offences

An 18-year-old man from Lowestoft has been charged with drug and criminal damage offences.

While on patrol, officers from the East Sentinel team, requested the driver of a vehicle to stop shortly before 6.45pm on Monday 30 March in the Lowestoft area.

The driver failed to do so and he was pursued for a short distance before the driver and the passenger decamped. The driver was detained a short time later in Mendip Close, Oulton Broad. He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre where he was questioned.

Anthony Lai, of Quinnell Way, Lowestoft was charged yesterday, Tuesday 31 March with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and with criminal damage, in relation to a separate incident.

Lai appeared before Norwich Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday 1 April and is next due to appear at Norwich Crown Court on Wednesday 29 April.
