Needham Market robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that took place in Needham Market.

Officers received a call shortly after 4pm yesterday, Saturday 29 February reporting that the driver of a white Ford Transit van had been assaulted and had his wallet stolen after pulling over in a layby on the A14 westbound between Needham Market and Stowmarket (Junction 51 – 50).

The suspect is described as being a white male around 6 foot tall, and of a stocky build, wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, black hooded top and black trousers.  He was driving a white or grey coloured van.

The victim, who was in his early 20s was kicked in the stomach, sustained no visible injuries, just pain and discomfort.

Police are appealing for witnesses who were travelling on the A14 between Needham Market and Stowmarket at approximately 4pm on 29 February, who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage to contact Bury St Edmunds CID quoting crime reference 37/12865/20.
