Felixstowe Update - Man charged after stabbing incident

A 34-year-old man has been charged in connection with a double stabbing in Felixstowe.

Officers were called to a property in Mill Lane just after 2am yesterday morning, Wednesday 1 January, after reports that two women had been stabbed in the property.

A 33-year-old woman sustained a serious knife wound to her stomach while a 44-year-old woman sustained a knife injury to the shoulder. Both victims were taken to Ipswich hospital for treatment. The 33-year-old remains in a serious but stable condition, while the 44-year-old was released from hospital yesterday morning following treatment to her shoulder injury.

Michael Dawson of Mill Lane Felixstowe was arrested yesterday, Wednesday, in connection with the incident and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He has now been charged with two counts of malicious wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Dawson is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today, Thursday 2 January.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw any suspicious activity to contact Ipswich CID, quoting crime reference 37/32/20.

Police have arrested a man in connection with a double stabbing in Felixstowe.

Officers were called to a property in Mill Lane just after 2am this morning (Wed 1 January) after reports that two women had been stabbed in the property.

A 33 year old woman sustained a serious knife wound to her stomach while a 44 year old woman sustained a knife injury to the shoulder. Both victims were taken to Ipswich hospital for treatment. The 33 year old is in a serious but stable condition, while the 44 year was released from hospital  earlier this morning following treatment to her shoulder injury.

Police have arrested a 34 year old man on suspicion of attempted murder and he has been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he remains.

A cordon remains in place at the property and police are conducting reassurance patrols in the area. The investigation is still at an early stage but police are confident that the parties involved are known to each other with no wider threat to the community.
