Suffolk Constabulary Internship Programme 2020/21

Are you a student or recent graduate over the age of 18 seeking an internship within a fast paced and unique organisation? If so, policing really is an environment like no other!

Suffolk Constabulary has launched an Internship Programme, seeking talented individuals to experience a summer or term-time internship.

You will be provided with the opportunity to work within the policing environment and develop your skills and future employability in areas such as team working, communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving and independent working. This programme allows you to apply your academic knowledge in a practical and real business environment.

As a successful candidate you will be assigned your own project for the duration of your internship. Working within a team and recognised working practices, you will use your effective written and verbal communication skills and independently plan and carry out your own project and workload. During a working day you will undertake a range of activities including, but not limited to, research, administrative work in support of your project, and compile a variety of documentation including producing and maintaining non-sensitive information. You will not be exposed to sensitive material.

At the end of your project you will create a final product in the form of a report or presentation with outcomes and recommendations.

Essential Skills Include:

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literate with basic keyboard skills
  • Ability to work using your own initiative as well as organising your own workload
  • Ability to work to deadlines and within a team environment
