Transport Services became a joint department in 2011 and has a vehicle fleet size of around 1,300 vehicles of all makes/models and employ 46 staff. Our Annual mileage of our fleet covers around 20 million miles. Joint transport operates 6 workshop sites with the main hubs at Wymondham and Ipswich.

Applications are invited for the above post in the Joint Transport department at Martlesham Heath, Ipswich.

The successful applicant will:

Should be a good team player and be able to extract data from Excell spreadsheets in collaboration with telematics data when booking our diverse fleet for routine servicing in advance. The candidate should have excellent communication skills when liaising with staff of all levels, and vehicle partners on progress on or off site and feed timescales back to the vehicle user.

It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Proven ability to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent IT skills with experience of Microsoft office, particularly Excel
  • Proven ability to extract, manipulate and record figures (financial and other numerical data with accuracy); understand and interpret information
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a team with limited supervision
  • Proven ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.
  • Proven experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and manage/prioritise workloads

It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • related services
  • Recognised qualification in business administration or fleet management or equivalent

Hours of work are 08:00-16:30 Monday-Friday with a 16:00 finish on a Friday.

This post is offered on a temporary basis.

Consideration will be given to whether the post can be delivered on either a part time or job share basis, in line with the organisational requirements of this role.
