Applications are invited for the above post within the MASH Domestic Abuse Safeguarding Team (DAST) within the Safeguarding and Investigations Command.
You will be working within the Safeguarding and Investigations command, contacting victims of domestic abuse. Domestic abuse is wide ranging and covers physical, sexual financial psychological and emotional abuse of both adults and children.
The successful applicants will be self-motivated, dynamic and be able to demonstrate the ability to be flexible, work on your own initiative and evidence your commitment to deliver an excellent quality of service to vulnerable victims.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake rigorous research on a supplied sample of cases to ensure each is appropriate for survey (against a supplied set of criteria). The applicant will then conduct service satisfaction telephone interviews; primarily with victims of domestic abuse (but may include victims of other types of offence) with a view to assessing and improving the performance of the Force in the standard of service provided to victims.
It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:
- Experience of researching and collating data across a number of sources and understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate verbally, particularly in dealing with victims by telephone (demonstrating an ability to show understanding, empathy and sensitivity when dealing with others)
- Good computer skills, including use of MS office packages
- Ability to think quickly and be adaptive to changing circumstances (e.g. responding safely and effectively if risks are identified to victim or further disclosures are made during the course of the interview)
- Proven problem solving skills and ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
- Previous experience of working with vulnerable victims (particularly victims of domestic abuse or serious sexual offences)
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours on a regular basis
- Ability to travel as required throughout Norfolk/Suffolk and to other locations as appropriate
It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:
- Knowledge of Athena, STORM and PNC
- Previous experience of conducting surveys and/or interviews

Hours of work are 37 per week Monday to Friday on a rotating pattern of 0900 – 1700hrs and 1200 – 2000 hours. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Consideration will be given to whether the post can be delivered on either a part time or job share basis, in line with the organisational requirements of this role.
