Performance Support Officer – Great position for those new to the job market or those looking for a change, who are interested in the world of police intelligence and performance.

Do you want to work for a department that recognises the value of its people?  Do you enjoy problem solving?  Do you have the skills to work to nationally defined deadlines? If you have an inquisitive mind, great problem solving skills and like working with data then we want to hear from you.

The Organisation:  Norfolk & Suffolk Constabularies are devoted to the safety and wellbeing of the people who live and work in both counties.  This is achieved by building on a wealth of traditional policing methods with innovative new approaches. Utilising technology and evidence-based research we create (nationally acclaimed) solutions to the issues faced in modern policing. Over 4,000 police staff and officers with a diverse range of skills and expertise work with partner agencies across the two counties to provide a quality service to the public. They are supported by an award-winning wellbeing service and a number of staff networks that provide support for groups that share similar characteristics, life experiences, values and beliefs. Both constabularies are committed to developing a diverse, equal and inclusive workforce that is representative of the communities they serve.

The Position: We are looking to recruit performance support officers (PSOs) ready for any vacancies that are likely to arise over the next six months. The PSOs are based in the performance analysis team within the Strategic, Business and Operational Services (SBOS) department, providing support to the performance monitoring and reporting process. Applicants will be expected to have experience in collating and compiling information from a range of sources and systems, have good verbal and written communication skills, and be able to use their own initiative. The posts that may become available could be on a range of contract types (permanent, temporary, full time and part time) and applicants who are successful but are not offered a post immediately will be held on a select list for six months. We are looking for people with a “can do” attitude, that enjoy problem solving and can work under pressure to join our highly regarded team.  If this sounds like you, please get in touch. SBOS is an exciting department that puts people at the heart of its vision and the salary for our PSOs is band C (£21,135 – £23,817).

The Location: The posts will be based at either Norfolk or Suffolk Police Headquarters.

Why Should you Apply?

  • To make a difference to the people of Norfolk and Suffolk.
  • Interesting and varied work.
  • Great team environment.
  • Flexible working opportunities.
  • Clear career pathway for development.
  • Local government pension scheme and Blue Light discounts.
