Suffolk Constabulary is looking for an outstanding leader to join our team.

The constabulary is currently delivering on Policing 2025, a vision and strategy that will ensure policing continues to meet the evolving threats and demands anticipated over the next decade. The strategy will ensure Suffolk Constabulary continues to focus on being an ever more efficient and resilient organisation, one that is equipped to deal with future challenges, deliver innovative solutions tailored to the circumstances of the country’s diverse communities and is transformational in its approach to promoting public confidence and trust in the services it provides.

Applications are invited from substantive Superintendents or suitably experienced Chief Inspectors who are ambitious and possess a genuine desire to be part of an exciting and forward-thinking organisation. The successful candidate will focus on keeping people safe, drive change across the police service, inspire partners and play a leading role in ensuring Suffolk’s communities flourish and become safer and stronger with improved opportunities and a better quality of life.

The role of Superintendent will be demanding and high profile. You will support the Force Executive to work with the public, private and voluntary sectors across Suffolk.

Key dates for the selection process are:

  1. Applications – Closing date for external applications will be midday on Wednesday 14th October 2020.   
  2. Shortlisting – Thursday 15th & Friday 16th October 2020.  
  3. Professional discussion with your line manager – between Monday 19th – Friday 23rd October 2020.
  4. Board Interview - w/c 26th October 2020.  

Important note

Applicants who have been unsuccessful for promotion in their own force within the previous 12 months will need to provide Suffolk Constabulary with the specific feedback and development plan that demonstrates they have addressed the development areas. In addition, applicants must be supported to apply for these roles by their current management team.
