The current Op Converter team consists of two Detective Constables who are based at Stowmarket Police Station.

The Converter team is now being relocated to Wickham Skeith and will be expanded to include an additional two Police Constables and an Admin & Research Coordinator.

The primary aim of the Converter team is to engage with offenders suspected of committing acquisitive crime with a view to encouraging them to change their pattern of offending.

The work of the team involves liaising directly with solicitors and offenders seeking their support in admitting their previous offending so that further offences can be taken into consideration

It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Proven office / administrative experience including working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of difference audiences both internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to work using own initiative with the ability to prioritise own workload and being able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proven data input skills including the ability to undertake database research activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines ensuring attention to detail with accuracy while delivering against deadlines.
  • Accurate keyboard skills and a comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.

It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Experience of working in restorative justice environment.

Hours of work are 37 per week Monday to Friday.  This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Consideration will be given to whether the post can be delivered on either a part time or job share basis, in line with the organisational requirements of this role.
