Misconduct Hearing

Hearing dates / time: Monday 27th – Friday 31st January 2025 and Thursday 6th – Friday 7th February 2025. The start time on Monday 27th will be 10:00 hours.

Summary of conduct alleged:
In August 2021 PC BRAZIER was in a relationship with Ms C. On 9th August 2021 she received a telephone call from male B whilst PC BRAZIER was present. Male B didn’t consider that the police were doing enough to find his friend, male A, who was missing. PC BRAZIER was unhappy with the way Ms C was spoken with.
PC BRAZIER and PC MOTLIB worked together from 23:00 hours on 9th to 07:00 hours on 10th August 2021. PC BRAZIER utilised Athena to complete searches in respect of male B when there was no policing purpose. It is then alleged that in the early hours of 10th August 2024 PC BRAZIER mobile telephone was used to contact male B; that the communication with male B could reasonably have been perceived to have been abusive or offensive. The call adversely impacted on male B, who on looking out of the window of his address in Ipswich saw a marked police vehicle being driven slowly around the car park. This vehicle contained PC BRAZIER and PC MOTLIB. Neither officer challenged nor reported the behaviour that evening.
On 17th August 2021 PC BRAZIER utilised Athena to complete searches in respect of male B and his allegation of malicious communication when there was no policing purpose.
