The threat to the UK from terrorism is constantly monitored by the Police and other agencies. This allows regular assessment of security measures which are in place and the opportunity to review the policing response to ensure any threat is met appropriately.
The terrorist threat remains real and there is no room for complacency. You should remain alert and aware of your surroundings at all times. If something strikes you as suspicious and out of place then trust your instincts and call the police.

Project Argus is a nationally recognised counter terrorism seminar designed to inform and advise senior management in preparing a response to serious events such as terrorist attacks at crowded places like shopping centres, major events, health sector, night time economy, and hotels. The interactive, workshop-based event is free and facilitated by Counter Terrorism Security Advisors using a multimedia simulation package.

Aviation Vigilance – Project Pegasus
Project Pegasus is a multi-agency initiative aimed at reducing the threat from organised crime and terrorism involving aircraft by reporting any unusual activity around small aviation sites. For more information visit the National Crime Agency website.

General Aviation Report (GAR)
If you are a pilot flying to/from the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Eire or Northern Ireland you must fly via a designated airport under the Terrorism Act 2000 OR give 12 hours prior notice in writing for the police area in which the port is situated. Please refer to the police contact numbers printed on the rear of the GAR. It is an offence under the Terrorism Act to wilfully fail to comply with this legislation.
What form do I fill in?
It is a requirement of an aircraft pilot/captain to complete a General Aviation Report (GAR) which must be submitted for police authorisation no less than 12 hours prior to the flight.
Maritime Vigilance - Project Kraken

Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI)
CPNI protects national security by providing protective security advice, for more information visit the CPNI website.
Counter Terrorism Security Advisers (CTSAs) are specialist trained staff working as part of a network of advisors across the country coordinated by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaaCTSO)
The CTSAs work with businesses and the community to identify and assess sites that may be vulnerable to terrorist or extremist attack, and also work with organisations to ensure counter terrorism protective security advice is incorporated into general crime prevention advice and guidance. Are you concerned about someone travelling to, or returning from, Syria or another conflict zone? Are you worried about someone showing signs of being radicalised?
Communities and families are asked to contact police on 101 about anyone you feel may be vulnerable. This includes anyone who is showing signs of becoming radicalised, who may have returned to the UK from Syria or may be planning to go to Syria or another conflict zone.
The Prevent Strategy is part of the Government’s overall counter terrorism strategy CONTEST. The aim of the strategy is to reduce the threat to the UK from terrorism by stopping people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. Prevent is 1 of 4 elements of CONTEST. The four strands are Protect, Prepare, Pursue and Prevent.
The Prevent Strategy is about all members of our communities and partners engaging with us at all levels to prevent the opportunities and circumstances developing where individuals might become vulnerable to being radicalised. Trust your instincts; be vigilant in your everyday home, work and social lives and look out for anything you feel is out of place that may indicate that someone is starting to become radical in their views. Have the confidence to contact the police with any information, however small or seemingly insignificant.
The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) works with the Home Office supporting the 'protect and prepare' strands of the Government’s counter terrorism strategy.
