If you wish to organise a clay pigeon shoot where participants without a shotgun licence will be firing at targets, you will need to apply for an exemption under the Firearms Act.
The exemption would cover the use of shotguns for the duration of the event.
To apply for an exemption under Section 11(6) of the Firearms Act, download and fill in the clay pigeon shoot exemption form below. Read all of the guidance in the form carefully.
Applications should be made a reasonable time before the event - preferably at least 4 weeks.
You can then return your completed form to us:
by email
or by post to:
Firearms Licensing Unit
Suffolk Constabulary
Martlesham Heath
Ipswich
IP5 3QS
A firearms enquiry officer will then contact you to arrange a mutually convenient time and date to inspect the arrangements.
If you have any further questions, contact the firearms team.
