Estates and Facilities

The joint Estates Department supports the buildings and properties owned by the Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner and the Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner (the two PCCs are the legal owners of police buildings and properties in Norfolk and Suffolk). We implement the Norfolk and Suffolk long term estates strategies: “the provision of a fit-for-purpose estates portfolio which is responsive to current and future needs, which effectively supports service delivery and is focused on improving public confidence and reducing costs”

Estates Service
Manages all aspects of the police estate, including:

  • Reactive and planned maintenance
  • Statutory servicing and maintenance
  • Acquisitions and disposals (as approved by the PCCs for Norfolk and Suffolk)
  • Provision of estates professional services
  • Management of force accommodation and furniture

Facilities Service
Provision of Facilities Services, including:

  • Management of corporate contracts for facilities management: cleaning, waste disposal, grounds maintenance, catering, and other specialist services
  • Management of evidential waste management
  • Delivery of the force sustainability and environmental strategies

PFI Service
Provision of Facilities Services, including:

  • Management of the Norfolk headquarters and joint Police Investigation Centre PFI agreement and its hard and soft services
  • Management of PFI accommodation
