Victim care centres
Suffolk has three Victim Care Centres (VCCs), across the county.
The centres cater for the advice, interview, medical examination,
aftercare and advocacy for a full range of vulnerable and/or
intimidated victims and witnesses. This includes children,
vulnerable adults, and victims of rape, sexual assault, and
domestic violence.
Victim Care Centre staff endeavour to take a lead with all
repeat victims of domestic violence, providing ongoing support,
guidance and direction to sector based investigating officers.
In addition, where appropriate, they provide a primary response
to all victims who retract their allegations, taking statements
where necessary.
