Security Advisers
Suffolk Police, together with police forces throughout the
United Kingdom, are better trained and equipped than ever to combat
the threat of international and domestic terrorism. As part of the
ongoing counter terrorism strategy, the police has dedicated
Counter Terrorism Security Advisers (CTSAs).
The role of these advisers is to provide protective and counter
terrorism security advice to support businesses in the following
areas:
- Risk assessments and vulnerability surveys of crowded
places
- Physical security measures
- Bomb threat response
- Mail handling procedures
- Business continuity and contingency planning
- Transportation of dangerous goods
- Secure storage of pathogens, toxins and radiological materials
chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear protective
security.
The CTSAs can also provide awareness training, free of charge,
to individual companies or groups of businesses on subjects such as
hostile reconnaissance, and preparedness for dealing with and
recovering from a terrorist attack.
