Key Facts

• Woodbridge & District SNT is in the Suffolk Coastal District and includes 34 parishes and covers some 240 square miles.
• Woodbridge is one of the prettiest towns in the area, nestling on the banks of the River Deben. It has a long and illustrious history and was once a thriving port and ship-building centre.
• The main A12 trunk road runs along the north/west boundary of the town, providing good road links.
• Woodbridge has something for everyone. There is a bustling and historic town centre, regular farmers markets, a swimming pool, cinema/theatre, sporting facilities, museums, the famous Woodbridge Tide Mill, which is one of only two working mills left in the country, and the award-winning Elmhurst Park.
• Rendlesham is the smallest of the four wards but probably has the largest concentrated population within the whole of the Wilford Peninsula, located on the site of the old RAF Bentwaters.
• On the opposite side of the A1152, in what was the military side of the base, is Bentwaters Parks which houses a number of independent businesses. The area is also used regularly for filming for TV and movie location work.
