Get involved
We have a collective responsibility to help prevent crime and
keep our communities safe.
In Suffolk, there are a number of ways you can play an active
part in community safety and supporting your police service.
- You can report crime and suspicious behaviour or suspected
criminal behaviour in your neighbourhood by calling the police on
101.
- You can pass information to police anonymously via the
Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
- You bring local issues to police attention by attending one of
the regular Community Priority Setting meetings held by police and
partner agencies in your neighbourhood.
- You can become part of the local policing family and use skills
you already have by working in your spare time as a
Police Support Volunteer or a member of
the Special Constabulary.
- You can work with your Safer Neighbourhood Team to join or set
up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in your street to stay
ahead of local crime and community safety issues where you
live.
- You can sign up to Police
Direct to receive messages about local crimes, along
with useful crime prevention advice.
