Update 5.30pm - 13 July 2012
A number of people have been conveyed to hospital following a
serious road traffic collision on the A11 London Road at
Elveden.
Police received reports of the collision, which occurred between
the A1101 five ways roundabout and the junction with the B1106, at
around 1:25pm this afternoon, Friday 13 July.
The fire service and ambulance service, including the air
ambulance also attended the scene and nine people in total were
taken to hospital.
It is believed that the coach was carrying 48 people, the
majority of whom are teenagers, and five of which were taken to
West Suffolk Hospital with minor injuries.
The other vehicle involved was a black Mercedes with four people
inside. Three have been taken to Addenbrooks Hospital, one with
life threatening injuries and the remaining casualty was taken to
Norfolk and Norwich with serious injuries.
Road closures have been put in place in the area and diversions
have been set up.
Anyone who is attending the music event at Thetford Forest this
evening is advised to avoid the area and approach the venue from
the Thetford direction.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Suffolk
Police on 101.

Suffolk Police are currently on scene at a road traffic
collision on A11 London Road at Elveden involving a car and a
coach.
The collision, which was reported to police at around 1:25pm,
occurred between the A1101 five ways roundabout and the junction
with the B1106.
The fire service and ambulance service, including the air
ambulance are also on scene and are attending to those involved. It
is believed that the coach was carrying around 30 people, none of
whom have any serious injuries.
The other vehicle involved was a black Mercedes with four people
inside, two of which are thought to have serious injuries.
Road closures have been put in place in the area and diversions
will be arranged.
