Serious collision appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision that took place at Eye.

It happened at 4.22pm yesterday (Thursday 15 November) on Cookley Road near Cookley Farm.

The collision took place between a red Ford Fiesta and a green Toyota Corolla.

The 44 year old female driver of the Fiesta sustained serious chest and leg injuries and is in a critical but stable condition at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital.

An 18 year old female passenger in the same car is in a serious but stable condition at the same hospital with serious leg injuries.

A male, aged 71, who sustained shock at the time of the collision, was driving the Corolla and also remains at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital.

Fire and ambulance crews were both called to the scene. Recovery was needed for both vehicles and the road was closed until 9pm.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact PC Andrew Smith of the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Constabulary on 101.
