The Chief Constable, Simon Ash, and officers and
staff at Suffolk Constabulary are supporting the ‘Help for Heroes’
charity, by wearing the charity’s Police pin badge.
All officers and staff are permitted to wear the pin badges, the
sale of which will raise money for Help for Heroes - a national
charity that helps wounded servicemen and women returning from Iraq
and Afghanistan.
The badge, which was developed by Norfolk Constabulary, has been
produced in the colours of the three armed forces.
Bryn and Emma Parry founded the Help for Heroes charity in October
2007 out of a desire to help the wounded servicemen and women
returning from operational tours.
Chief Constable Simon Ash commented: “I fully support the ‘Help for
Heroes’ charity and I am delighted that these badges have been made
available for those who choose to support our wounded service
personnel. Suffolk has a close association with the armed forces
and our thoughts are with those who are putting their lives at risk
in places like Afghanistan.”
Lord Tollemache, Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, commented: “Police
officers, staff, their families and friends should feel proud to
wear this new badge on their uniforms or work clothes. Along with
many other people in this country, I fully support the aims of
‘Help for Heroes’.”
