Suffolk County Council has appointed five new County Councillor members to the Police Authority.

Following the recent elections, the County Council has appointed Councillors Peter Gardiner, Deanna Law, Rae Leighton, Patricia O'Brien and Mary Young to sit on the Police Authority for the next four years along with four other councillor members who have been reappointed. They are Councillors Tim Marks, Colin Spence, Joanna Spicer and David Wood.

The nine County Council Police Authority members are:

Conservative
Cllrs Deanna Law (South Lowestoft), Rae Leighton (Blything), Tim Marks (Haverhill Cangle), Patricia O'Brien (Martlesham), Colin Spence (Sudbury East & Waldingfield), Joanna Spicer (Blackbourn) and Mary Young (Whitehouse/Whitton, Ipswich).

Liberal Democrats
Cllr David Wood (Peninsula)

Labour
Cllr Peter Gardiner (Chantry, Ipswich)

The nine County Councillor members will join the following eight Independent members : Holden Cook, Carey Godfrey, Liz Harlaar, Gulshan Kayembe, Judy Lancaster, Gill Lewis, David Rowe and Anne Tyler.
