Who Are The Specials?

Special Constables are ordinary people who dedicate some of their spare time towards helping to keep our community a safe place to live.

Special Constables are valued members of the Constabulary who provide a vital link between the police and community. They play an active role in the policing of Suffolk.

Where do we have vacancies for Specials?

We are currently recruiting Specials in most areas of Suffolk. However, for the time being, we are unable to take applications for those who wish to serve in Ipswich, Felixstowe, Capel St Mary and Woodbridge. This is only a temporary measure and will change in the future. Keep an eye on this section of the website for future updates.

Please bear in mind that the only way in which you can pick up an application pack to join the Specials is to attend one of our advertised Information Evenings. Please go this section of our website for details of forthcoming events.
